DJI Transmission

Vision beyond borders

DJI Transmission evolves from DJI's established aerial video transmission technology, providing a complete solution that combines a video receiver, monitor, controller and recorder. It's designed for native integration with Ronin and DJI Master Wheels products, transforming the industry with a groundbreaking streaming experience that provides vision beyond boundaries.

Transmission Performance

Long Distance HD Live Stream

DJI Transmission

DJI Transmission incorporates O3 Pro video transmission technology, which offers an incredible transmission distance of 6 km[1] on the ground. It also supports 1080p/60fps transmission with a maximum bitrate of 50Mbps as well as live audio monitoring at 16-bit 48kHz, providing large set groups with an excellent remote visual and audio monitoring experience.

Extremely low end-to-end latency

The video transmitter and receiver use the same chip solution as the Ronin 4D, with each link specifically optimized to provide end-to-end ultra-low transmission latency when paired with cinema cameras such as the ALEXA Mini LF.

Seamless automatic frequency hopping

O3 Pro adds DFS bands on top of the traditional 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands, offering up to 23 channel options that provide professional groups more compatible and interference-free transmission channels. In addition, DJI Transmission supports automatic triple-band frequency hopping, which automatically scans the electromagnetic environment for the best wireless channel.

With a built-in frequency scanning system, users can even manually select the optimal channel to avoid interference between devices.

By installing high-gain antennas[2] the transmission capacity is further enhanced.

DJI Transmission

A transmitter with multiple receivers

The high-brightness remote control display supports a transmitter with multiple receivers for video and audio streaming in two transmission modes. In Control mode, DJI Transmission provides optimal transmission performance. Tracking can be done from two receivers simultaneously, while the Ronin 2, RS 3 Pro and camera focus can all be controlled remotely.

For crews working with multiple members and teams, such as lighting, art department and props, Broadcast mode can be enabled over Control mode to allow an unlimited number of receivers (broadcast performance differs from Control mode). This brings shooting efficiency and awareness to a whole new level.

Encrypted transmission

DJI Transmission

DJI Transmission supports secure pairing and encryption AES 256-bit to protect against unauthorized access to your information. Together with the chip and transmission protocol developed by DJI, DJI Transmission is able to ensure the highest level of security for your footage.

Tracking experience

Complete design

Compared to conventional solutions, DJI Transmission incorporates a high-brightness display with a built-in receiver, providing optimal portability and efficient setup to help you get started quickly in any setting.
The remote display has a built-in processing chip image that is the same as that used in the Ronin 4D. This allows it to offer many features in addition to monitoring for integrated and efficient capture, monitoring, control and recording.

Wide range touch screen

The remote control high-brightness screen is equipped with a 7-inch wide-gamut touch screen with a brightness of up to 1500 nits. It comes standard with a tempered glass screen protector and a professional screen shader to deliver rich, true-to-life colors, even in bright lighting conditions. With a resolution of 1920*1200, the screen displays a non-intrusive user interface (OSD), with visible details such as download parameters to ensure easy access to information and seamless monitoring.

Support tools

The remote display comes with supporting tools such as safe zone, frame guide, zebra stripes, false color, peaking and waveform for accurate composition, exposure and focus.

Independent recording and playback

The remote display also has a microSD card slot and allows recording and playback of a 1080p/60fps H.264 live stream, as well as simultaneous access to video timecodes,[3] which makes it easy processing proxies directly on the set. When multiple remote monitors are used in combination, each monitor can even record or play back video independently without interfering with other monitors.

Expandable control options

Built-in motion control

The high-brightness remote control display has a built-in gyro sensor that allows it to function as a standalone motion controller for the Ronin 2 or RS 3 Pro without the need for additional accessories. This allows users to achieve more complex camera movements from a moving vehicle or with a jib crane.

Compatible with Ronin 4D grips

The high screen remote control brightness has a protective extension frame. When used with Ronin 4D grips[2] the controller can control the Ronin 2 or RS 3 Pro gimbal and the focus wheel can control focus and camera settings such as aperture, shutter and ISO, while the record button controls recording start/stop[4] making the user experience of the RS 3 Pro similar to that of the Ronin 4D.

Compatibility with DJI Master Wheels and DJI Force Pro

When used with DJI Master Wheels or DJI Force Pro[5] the remote monitor allows users to achieve more advanced gimbal control when using the Ronin 2 or RS 3 Pro. In this scenario, the original equipment will transmit control signals directly through DJI Transmission, no longer using the wireless signals from DJI Master Wheels or DJI Force Pro. This boosts transmission efficiency by three times and enhances signal range, stability and anti-interference capabilities.

Mirror Control Mode

When the RS 3 Pro is mounted on jibs, cable cameras and vehicles, with Mirror Control[6] you can remotely control the menu of Sony mirrorless cameras from anywhere in set.
