DJI and FLIR have created the first dedicated thermal imaging camera for drones, which uses Zenmuse gimbal technology for real-time in-flight stabilization. The DJI Zenmuse XT thermal imaging camera is compatible with the DJI Inspire 1 and DJI Matrice 100, allowing the camera to be used for rescue operations, firefighting, solar panel and power grid inspection, animal monitoring, crops and more. The average flight time with the DJI Zenmuse XT camera assembled is 22 minutes for the DJI Inspire 1 and 35 minutes for the DJI Matrice 100.
The DJI Zenmuse XT thermal imaging camera features the latest image enhancement technologies such as Digital Detail Enhancement, Smart Scene Optimization, Active Contrast Enhancement and Information Based HEQ, based on information from FLIR.
The DJI Zenmuse XT thermal imaging camera can be fully controlled from the DJI GO app, where some special functions were added - digital zoom, preview and capture photos and videos, capture images while recording video, check camera settings while recording, etc.

Control DJI Zenmuse XT through the DJI GO app
The DJI Zenmuse XT thermal imaging camera can be controlled via the DJI GO app, which provides real-time imaging with minimal latency and allows control of all camera functions during flight, some of which include: spot metering, digital zoom, snapshot or interval, image capture during video recording, camera settings and capture modes, Region of Interest, isothermal mode and more.
Precise measurement at any point
Just touch any part of the screen to see the temperature inside it. You can also select an area where you can measure the highest, lowest and average temperatures or find out the location of these points. The thermal imaging camera improves the accuracy of the temperature measurement by adjusting external parameters, including the ambient temperature and radiation in the scene. If the images are taken in TIFF format, the temperature for each pixel can be recorded so that you can process and analyze the information later. Temperature thresholds can be set, which are automatically activated when the corresponding temperature is detected.
Compatible with DJI Inspire 1 and DJI Matrice 100
The DJI Zenmuse XT thermal imaging camera consists of two main components - the Zenmuse XT gimbal, created by DJI, and the camera, created by FLIR. It provides high sensitivity (50mK) with infrared scanning with 640/30 or 336/30 shots per second depending on the model. Due to its sensitivity, the camera measures the temperature very precisely. Both cameras have 4 variants depending on the lens used. They are stabilized and controlled by DJI's gimbal, which allows the camera to rotate up to 360. Mounting on the DJI Matrice 100 and DJI Inspire 1 drones is easy and fast, allowing the system to fly in seconds to provide a thermal image to your mobile or tablet.
