DJI RS 4
Gripping Storytelling
The DJI RS 4 lightweight gimbal supports next-generation native vertical shooting with improved operating performance, enhanced stabilization performance and an upgraded accessory ecosystem. It empowers solo filmmakers with a more professional and efficient creative experience and the toolset to tell compelling visual stories.
Native vertical download 2nd generation
Joystick mode switch for zoom or gimbal control
Teflon coated axle arms for smoother balance
3 kg payload capacity with extended Tilt axis
RSA communication port for extended control ecosystem
High capacity battery grip for approximately 2.5x battery life[1]
Native vertical download 2nd generation
DJI RS 4 features a newly designed horizontal plate, allowing the second generation of native vertical shooting to operate faster and simpler. Without the need for additional accessories, you can simply release the horizontal plate and lock it in the vertical position for easy transition to vertical shooting.[2]
Automated axle locks 2nd generation
Automated axis locks allow the RS 4 to quickly start working or enter sleep mode, greatly improving download, transition and storage performance. Additionally, axle locks have smaller clearances when locked, further reducing gimbal shake.
Our smoothest balancing experience
DJI RS 4 features a Teflon coating for all three axes resulting in reduced friction and smoother balancing.
When changing cameras or lenses, the detail knob on the tilt axis can move the camera forward or backward, achieving precise millimeter-level balancing.
The quick release top plate has an additional adjustable mounting guide to ensure secure camera placement.
Automatic screen lock
The OLED touch screen incorporates a new auto-lock feature. Once locked, the screen will display the current gimbal and joystick modes in low brightness. This not only prevents accidental touches, but also helps save battery power.
Strong stabilization
Outstanding payload capacity
The lightweight body has a capacity of 3 kg. It can carry mirrorless and lens-less main camera combinations, enabling comfortable grip with robust power.
Compared to the previous generation, the RS 4's tilt axis has been extended by 8.5mm, offering extended balancing space. This allows you to mount mirrorless camera and lens combinations together with accessories such as ND filters, expanding the range of creative possibilities.
RS 4th Generation Stabilization Algorithm
DJI has fully optimized its next generation RS stabilization algorithm for different usage scenarios. It achieves a superior balance between stabilization power and the tactile feel of camera movement, delivering exceptional performance and an enhanced user experience. In addition, the RS 4 offers significantly improved stability when shooting vertically, easily stabilizing dynamic shots such as running or low-angle perspectives.
Professional creation
DJI RS 4 supports the professional-grade capabilities of DJI PRO products, providing superior performance that makes soloing more efficient.
Wireless control via Bluetooth
DJI RS 4 can remotely control the camera shutter and lens zoom with Bluetooth Dual-Mode technology. In control mode zoom, you can use the joystick to control Power Zoom for PZ lenses and Clear Image Zoom,[3] getting a native zoom experience. A camera only needs to be paired once, after which it can reconnect seamlessly and automatically.
Support for DJI Pro Focus Motor
When combined with the new DJI Pro Focus Engine,[4] the DJI RS 4 allows you to control the focus of the lens via a dial or adjust the zoom of the lens via the joystick. This smooth operation allows for effective lens control.

Customize trigger mode
Trigger mode can be adapted to FPV mode, where by pressing and holding the trigger, the three axes of the gimbal follow the direction of the handle movement. This is especially useful for shooting rotating shots or simulating POV.
Gimbal mode switch
By flipping the gimbal mode switch, you can quickly switch between PF, PTF and FPV modes. You can also set the FPV mode to 3D Roll 360 or Custom mode according to your shooting requirements, ensuring the RS 4 is ready for precision.

RSA communication port
DJI RS 4 introduces an RSA communication port, which allows the connection of accessories such as the DJI Ronin Connected Control Grip[6] and third-party accessories such as control grips[6 ] and ring grips with remote control.[6] You can switch between different shooting settings according to your creative needs.
Thanks to the DJI RS SDK, third-party manufacturers and individual developers can develop custom functions for the RS 4, meeting a wider range of shooting requirements.
DJI RS BG70 High Capacity Battery Grip
The new high capacity battery grip BG70[6] can extend the battery life of RS 4 to 29.5 hours.[7] It also supports power your camera and accessories with up to 18W via the USB-C port on the bottom.

Support for DJI Ronin Image Transmitter
Both independent filmmakers and small crews can to use the DJI Ronin[6] image transmitter for high-definition live streams, remote panning and camera control, ActiveTrack 4.0, Force Mobile and more, achieving a complete shooting experience with tracking and control capabilities.
- Notes:
- The data was measured by comparing the battery life of the DJI RS 4 equipped with the DJI RS BG70 High Capacity Battery Grip and the DJI RS 4 equipped with the DJI RS BG21 Battery Grip. Battery run time was measured in an indoor 25C environment with the gimbal level balanced and stationary until the battery level reached 3% (with the battery grip only powering the gimbal).
- Anti-yeast requires rebalancing after switching between horizontal and vertical shooting.
- For more details on camera and lens compatibility, please see the Ronin series compatibility search page.
- DJI RS 4 Combo includes DJI Pro focus motor. For the standalone version, the engine is sold separately.
