The DJI Mimo app

Unlike previous Osmo Mobile models, the new Osmo Mobile 3 already connects to your phone via the DJI Mimo app. By using the video stabilizer with the DJI Mimo app, users can take advantage of new features such as Story mode, which allows you to easily capture, edit and share your everyday moments.

How to balance Osmo Mobile 3?

Your smartphone must be balanced exactly on the gimbal so that it can capture smooth shots.

To balance the Osmo Mobile 3, place your smartphone in the phone holder, making sure the DJI logo is facing forward with the camera on the left. Adjust the position of your mobile until it stops. If your smartphone falls to one side, adjust its position until it stays flat.

How to activate Osmo Mobile 3?

Before using Osmo Mobile 3 for the first time, you will you need to turn on the device. To do this, open the DJI Mimo app and tap the camera icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Look for Bluetooth on Osmo Mobile 3 and tap to connect. Enter your DJI account name and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process.

Wait state

Press the M button three times to enter standby mode. In this case, the LED will flash yellow or green, which means that you will be able to use your smartphone while the stand is folded. This feature saves you from removing your smartphone or rebalancing the base before each use.

M button

Osmo Mobile 3's M button has many functions. Apart from being the start button, it can also be used to customize the modes according to your specific needs. By default, it allows users to easily switch between taking photos and recording videos. However, it can also be used to bring up a quick menu, which allows you to change features without having to touch your phone's screen.

You can also double-tap the button to switch between portrait and landscape orientation.

Story Mode

Story mode uses predefined creative templates to help users create short movie sequences with minimal effort. To create a video in Story mode, select a template, then shoot each video individually. DJI Mimo will automatically paste photos together with creative transitions and music to create a unique video.

Enable gesture control

To control Osmo Mobile 3 with gestures, you must first enable Gesture Control in the menu. The device recognizes "palm" and "V" gestures to start recording or tracking.

Stay charged while on the go

The new design features a USB port on the right side of the handle, allowing you to charge your smartphone while shooting. You can also charge Osmo Mobile 3 with an external power source, meaning the battery will never run out.

Firmware Update

Osmo Mobile 3 firmware update is the best way to take advantage of the latest features and improvements. If a new firmware update is available, a prompt will appear in the DJI Mimo app. Follow the on-screen instructions to update.
